Detective  Department   Under  Howrah  Police  Commissionerate

With the formation of the Howrah Police Commissionerate  w.e.f. 1st September , a special  wing  to deal with all sorts of crime specially heinous and white collar crimes was formed by the name of Detective Department (D.D.) , Howrah Police Commissionerate.

Organizational Structure

The D.D. is headed by a Deputy Commissioner of Police is DCP(D.D.),   assisted by an  Assistant Commissioner of Police (A.C.P.,DD), Inspectors , Sub-Inspectors and other Police Personnel.

The D.D., Howrah Police Comissionerte deals with crime with special emphasis on Extortion , Narcotics, Cyber Crime, Murder, Dacoity, Cheating ,Fraud etc. In fact the entire function of the D.D. has been compartmentalized into various sections.
